Submissions are coming in and several invited speakers are confirmed.<\/p>\n<h3>Invited speakers so far are:<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-606\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;\" alt=\"Gerry Pennell\" src=\"http:\/\/eunis.org\/eunis2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/Pennell290-150x150.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Gerry Pennell &#8211; University of Manchester<\/p>\n<p><em>Gerry read Mathematics at the University of Manchester before pursuing a career in software development and project management in a variety of sectors and organisations. \u00a0Prior to his current role as Director of IT at the University of Manchester, Gerry was CIO for London 2012 for which he was awarded the OBE in the New Year Honours List 2013.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-604\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Michiel Boreel\" alt=\"Michiel Boreel\" src=\"http:\/\/eunis.org\/eunis2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/Michiel-Boreel-edit-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Michiel Boreel &#8211; SogetiLabs, CTO Sogeti Group<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.5em;\">Michiel Boreel has worked in the IT Industry for over 21 years and since 2007 has held the role of Chief Technology Officer with Sogeti. Michiel started his IT career at a company now owned by Sogeti advising about the reverse engineering of legacy information systems and migration estimation methods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In 1994, Sogeti asked Michiel to lead a new initiative, called the Institute for the Analysis of New Technology (VINT), a small research and trend spotting group with the goal of inspiring customers to apply new technology in business processes. A constant theme in all of the VINT research is the question what role IT will play in the future society and how technology can be applied to create meaningful business innovation.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-653\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Dan Peters\" alt=\"Dan Peters\" src=\"http:\/\/eunis.org\/eunis2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/dan_windmill-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Dan Peters, Blackboard<\/p>\n<p>Dan manages Blackboard&#8217;s European and Australian solutions engineering team where he helps schools, universities, colleges, and enterprises effectively use technology to support teaching and learning and improve student outcomes.\u00a0While Dan earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from\u00a0Stanford\u00a0University\u00a0he became involved in web-based learning in 1995 with a key role on the Asynchronous Distance Education ProjecT.\u00a0From this work, he played a key role in creating Stanford Online, which was the first completely online degree program in the world to incorporate video with audio, text, and graphics in its distance learning offerings.\u00a0\u00a0In the years since, he has worked with hundreds of universities globally to improve their adoption and effective use of educational technology.\u00a0 Before joining Blackboard in 2006, Dan worked at WebCT in the same capacity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-655\" style=\"margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;\" title=\"Eden Dahlstrom\" alt=\"Eden Dahlstrom\" src=\"http:\/\/eunis.org\/eunis2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/154d89d80bc011b553d3863e05a683a51-150x150.jpeg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/eunis.org\/eunis2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/154d89d80bc011b553d3863e05a683a51-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/eunis.org\/eunis2014\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2014\/02\/154d89d80bc011b553d3863e05a683a51.jpeg 256w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Eden Dahlstrom, Director of Research, EDUCAUSE and ECAR<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.5em;\">Eden Dahlstrom is the Director of Research for the Data, Research, and Analytics unit at EDUCAUSE. She oversees research initiatives on the topics that matter most to the higher education IT community. She is also the principal investigator for the annually recursive research on undergraduate students&#8217; technology experiences and expectations hosted by the EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The programme for the EUNIS annual congress in Ume\u00e5 this summer is beginning to take shape.
