Transformation of higher education is needed for our institutions to face the new reality with reinforced and re-invigorated education, research, innovation and service to society missions. In support of this, the Digital Education Action Plan will support policy and programme level actions to ensure quality and inclusive higher education and digital skills for all.
Institutions will be supported to harness the power of digital technologies to make higher education more accessible to traditional and non-traditional learners through flexible and modular programmes.
Administration will be streamlined through initiatives such as the European approach to micro-credentials and the European Student Card.
New, innovative and technologically enhanced learning and teaching will become the norm.
Blended and virtual mobility formats and collaborative online international learning will open students to new global perspectives.
Digital skills for all students will be ensured whilst in parallel advanced digital skills will be boosted for the digital sovereignty of Europe, ensuring ethics in AI and safe and secure online use to counter the growing rise of false information, disinformation and cybersecurity threats.
