EUNIS Island \u2013 getting there<\/h3>

To enter the Island copy and paste the following link<\/p>

You will only get the full experience during the scheduled hours.<\/em><\/p>

You will be asked to choose a name and an Avatar.
There is also an option for adding text status e.g. name of organisation etc.<\/p>

You then choose your camera and microphone (these can be switched off whenever you wish from your control panel).<\/p>

You will arrive on the island at the arrivals area.
It may take a short while for the island to appear on your screen depending upon the speed of your internet connection.
Proceed across the bridge and turn right to find the Tourist Information Centre.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Navigating<\/h3>

You can move your avatar around the island using the arrow keys.<\/p>

Communicating with other Avatars<\/h3>

When your avatar approaches others, a video call auto-matically starts between you and the people you approach. All videos will initially appear at the top of your screen. In an open area, you will be connected to everyone within 5 tiles unless you activate Quiet Mode. When you are in a Private Area, you will be connected to everyone who is al-so inside of the private area.<\/p>

To enlarge the videos you are currently seeing, you can en-ter Grid View – click button in the upper right of your screen. Grid View will display up to 9 videos in a grid for-mat at the same time with their names and avatars visible similar to Zoom. To exit Grid View, click button in the upper right of your screen.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Interactable Objects<\/h3>

When your avatar moves closer to an interactable object, it will glow yellow and there will be a notification that shows up saying
\u2018Press x to interact with -object-\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>

On arriving on the EUNIS Island the first interactable objects you will encounter are at the tourist information centre. Here you will find links to a map of the island, instructions for navigating around the island and other useful information.<\/p>

The Market places have one or two interactable objects which are links to the Sponsors\u2019 videos, posters or websites.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Private Spaces<\/h3>

When entering the Market places, the 2 beach bars and the restaurant you will find that the areas are highlighted, and a message appears at the bottom of the screen stating that you have entered a private space. Within these spaces you can speak to, hear and see all the other people present within that space, however no one else outside of this area can hear you or see your video. You cannot see or hear people who are not within your private space.
In the Taverna each table area acts as a separate private space and therefore only those people seated at your table can hear or see you.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

If you click on Participants at the bottom left, you can see who is currently online. \"\"
If you want to find someone on the map to talk to them, click on the person\u2019s name and then on \u201cfollow\u201d or \u201clocate on map \u201c.<\/p>

On the left side bar menu there is the option to \u2018chat\u2019<\/span>\u00a0 \"\" with individuals or to those nearby or to everyone.<\/p>

There are a number of options in the menu at the bottom of the screen.
The icon \"\" shows you an over view of the island and your position.
Clicking on your name brings up a menu with a number of options the most useful being respawn<\/strong>\u2014this sends you back to the arrival zone\u2014useful if you get lost.<\/p>
