Journey of Member States towards digital Erasmus \u2013 challenges and lessons learned<\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n

In the panel, to which experts from several countries and participants of many European projects are invited, we will discuss the approach to the digitalization of higher education on a European scale, within the Erasmus+ programme and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyone is aware of the need to digitalize higher education, digitalization on a European scale requires agreements and involvement of all institutions, at the technical level standards and elements of common infrastructure are necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n

When solutions already exist and are in production use, the question of sustainability, financing, management and implementing changes comes to the fore.<\/span><\/p>\n

Together with the audience we will seek answers to the following questions:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. How do different member countries implement their participation in the EWP and EMREX network – developing in-house systems, using commercial vendor software or a free solution provided by EC?<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. What should be the driving force for digitalization – a grassroots initiative of users who want to streamline processes, or European legislation? How to meet the digital needs of the European Alliances? What role does digital wallets play in ensuring data access control?<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. What should be the role of the EU in the digitization of the Erasmus+ programme – financing, supervision, setting goals and enforcing them, deciding on the business and technical aspects of the solution? How to solve the problem of governance in relation to the effects achieved within European projects (e.g. converters, software bridges)?<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Who should bear the financial costs of digitization and how to ensure rationalization of expenses?<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. In what mode and time can the change of the network architecture be implemented (evolutionary, revolutionary) and who should decide on the shape of the changes? How to agree on a schedule with a large and diverse group of\u00a0 stakeholders, with systems running in the production settings?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
