2.30 pm – Departure from<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0Faculdade de Ci\u00eancias da Universidade do Porto<\/a><\/p>\n

Half Day Tour (max. 4 hours)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The group will start with a panoramic tour towards\u00a0Boavista<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Foz<\/a>, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Douro river.<\/p>\n

At Boavista, a stop at\u00a0Casa da M\u00fasica<\/a>\u00a0will allow you to explore this contemporary building and its modern architecture.<\/p>\n

Near Foz, there is some time to have a drink and take some photos on the privileged Porto seafront.<\/p>\n

Then the group will proceed to\u00a0Ribeira Square<\/a>\u00a0and as it arrives at the\u00a0historic city centre<\/a>, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO, you will explore the main highlights of the city with all its impressive and architectonic diversified monuments and buildings.<\/p>\n

Departure from\u00a0FCUP<\/a>, heading towards\u00a0Guimar\u00e3es<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At Guimar\u00e3es, a UNESCO site, you will have your first stop. The city has a pleasant and well-preserved heritage, where the castle, as well as its medieval streets stands out. Visit to the\u00a0Castle<\/a>\u00a0and \u201cPa\u00e7o dos Duques<\/a>\u201d is scheduled to take 1h30. The tour continues to\u00a0Braga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Visit to its main attraction – the impressive\u00a0Sanctuary of Bom Jesus<\/a>, built on a hill with an incredible ancient baroque staircase plenty of fountains, meditation stops and statues. It is possible to reach Bom Jesus using the first\u00a0funicular<\/a>\u00a0built in the Iberian Peninsula, currently the oldest in the world still in service, that uses water counterbalance system.<\/p>\n
