In the first part, Digitisation in education, I will summarise some opportunities and challenges of using digital tools in educational setting, with a focus on higher education, what works (and in which contexts), what doesn’t work, and what will be the main challenges in the coming years posed by artificial intelligence. Many of these problems boil down to at least two very difficult questions: What is the goal of digitisation and What is education about? The second part focusses on Education for digitisation, in particular What should we teach in higher education to equip graduates with useful intellectual tools to navigate an increasingly digital reality both as members of a productive workforce and as researchers.
