The European University Information Systems (EUNIS) association is a non-profit organisation fostering collaboration and innovation in Information Technology (IT) services in higher education institutions across Europe. With a mission to help member institutions develop their digital landscape by working together, EUNIS is playing a pivotal role in initiating and supporting collaborative projects among European universities and research organisations.
EUNIS supports knowledge exchange in numerous ways, including the organisation of conferences and webinars, and the support of projects of mutual interest. EUNIS Congress, an annual event, is a prime example of the association’s efforts to promote collaboration: it provides a unique opportunity to network personally with decision makers in IT and Digital Transformation in Europe. Every year in June, up to 450 delegates and representatives from our member institutions meet up to exchange best practices and develop the community. Birds of a feather, discussion panels, workshops and presentations are the ideal framework for like-minded individuals to share ideas, collaborate, and learn from one another. These gathering are also the opportunity to discuss with the major suppliers of information systems and to present them with the University point of view.
EUNIS also fosters knowledge sharing through its topical areas or Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which are dedicated to specific areas of IT in Higher Education, and which gather European experts in their domain. Beyond their internal activities and topical workshops throughout the year, the Special Interest Groups organise regular events with EUNIS partners. For example, in the areas of Cloud Management, Information Security, and Learning & Teaching, respective EUNIS SIGs regularly organise joint webinars with, or contribute to events and initiatives by EUNIS partners such as GÉANT, EUA, 1EdTech, CAUDIT and other International and National consortia and committees.
