Please explain! The current reality of AI for science

The reality of building an AI product is always messier than commercials reveal – and scientists and researchers might be the most demanding user group of them all. In this talk, we share some stories from the trenches or the forefront of NLP; the successes and the failures, and the complicated questions that arise.

Universities generate a vast amount of scientific data but is it always put to good use? Half of the world’s research papers are read by five (or fewer) people. Technology can help researchers working on important problems to have all the right information at the fingertips.

Anita will give some insights into how to efficiently leverage scientific knowledge taking account of both technical and cultural considerations.
