Digitalization and Employees’ Performance in Higher Education Institutions: Promise or Peril? #27
Academic landscape has lately undergone transformative shifts propelled by the confluence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the rise of Generative AI, the surge in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), and the establishment of international hybrid higher education consortia (e.g., ECIU).
However, despite efforts to scrutinize digital transformation of Higher Education (HE), institutional research remains inadequate for understanding how technology-induced psychosocial aspects affect academic employees’ work performance. To bridge this gap, this study investigates the impact of selected technology-related job/personal demands and resources on employees’ work engagement and performance.

Designing training courses for digital competences of the academic and research community in Croatia #72
Today, digital competences are seen as a set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are necessary to be functional in the digital environment. They are needed for life, work, and learning. A teacher’s or researcher’s digital competence implies connectivity with the skills to use digital technologies to work with modern information and communication technologies, computers, applications, and bases, helping them to realise their ideas and goals in the context of their work. The need for continuous professional development and training for upskilling is constant and users expect training opportunities tailored to their personal preferences.
The University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (SRCE) has a long tradition (over 50 years) of organizing high-quality and diverse ICT educational activities for the academic and scientific community in Croatia, as well as for all other interested participants. Part of SRCE’s educational programs is related to the e-infrastructure and services SRCE provides for higher education and research in Croatia.
