The European Student Card: simplifying student mobility in European University Alliances #36
The European Student Card (hereafter ESC) has been developed to promote student mobility and reduce administrative burdens for students and Higher Education Institutions (hereafter HEIs). Starting as an EU-funded project in 2016, it became a building block of the European Commission’s “European Student Card Initiative”. The ESC is a scalable, interoperable, and adaptable solution to several technologies – based on a centralized digital platform – the ESC-Router – which provides a flexible solution applicable to all cards, regardless of the card system every institution uses; helping to streamline the access to on- and off-campus services and representing a greener, digital and easy-to-integrate solution for Higher Education Institutions.
Join us in a panel session to discuss the main developments of the European Student Card, know the best practices from Higher Education institutions implementing it, and look ahead to the future of student cards in the digital era.
