Is Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence possible? Exploring uncharted territories and new challenges.

 

This workshop aims to inform the audience and discuss recent developments in the area of Inclusive and Sustainable Artificial Intelligence. Invited experts will present their views and discussions on various themes will be organised using the fishbowl set-up, ensuring interaction and meeting the audience interests. Aim is to address various aspects.

 

Expected audience: 

all with an interest in inclusive and sustainable AI, and ethical aspects of AI use

 

First speaker is Cal Innes, Digital Sustainability Specialist at Jisc, United Kingdom, (see his LinkedIn proflle here. He will talk about Sustainability aspects of AI.

Second speaker is Bianca de Teffé Erb, Director Data & AI Ethics at Deloitte / PhD AI Future of Work / Rapporteur for EU Parliament “Ethics by Design for AI” Report / Women4AI Member. See her LinkedIn profile here. She will talk about AI & Ethics challenges

Confirmed moderator is AI expert  John Magnus Kallevik, CTO at University of Stavanger, Norway.

 

The audience will be stimulated to comment, ask questions, raise concerns and present views on the topics at hand, using the fishbowl approach that will support an engaging way to interact and steer discussions towards audience interest.

  • Better understanding of developments and results of using AI in HE&R with regards to inclusivity and sustainability
  • Ideas on how their university may actively prepare for challenges and opportunities that come with AI entering education and research and all other university processes
