UK Travel Requirements

Non UK nationals require a valid passport to enter the UK. EU National Identity cards are no longer accepted for travel purposes.

Nationals of countries who are exempt from obtaining a UK visa (including EU/EEA) now need to obtain a UK ETA Electronic Travel Authorisation prior to travel.

The ETA costs £16 per person and you will need to register using the UK Government ETA app. There is no additional document – the ETA number will be connected to your passport number.

Local Area

The Belfast campus is located in Belfast city in the Arts and cultural quarter “Cathedral Quarter”. The link showcases this historic trading quarter which is a maze of cobblestoned streets and warehouses that are now home to trendy bars, beer gardens, clubs, restaurants and arts organisations. There is a very popular walking art tour beside the campus and the MAC theatre is a  minute’s way away. Even closer to the campus is the historic St Anne’s Cathedral.  A short walk away is the main shopping area of the city with a mix of high end retail, local craft and major high street stores. The City Hall is, again, a 5 minute walk from the campus and, 5 minutes in the other direction, is the river Lagan with its riverside walkways, public art and rich maritime history. Crossing over the Lagan bridge you are in Titanic Quarter with the iconic Harland & Wolff cranes and the Titanic visitor centre. There are excellent rail and bus links from nearby the campus for those who may wish to visit attractions such as Giant’s Causeway, Carrickfergus Castle, the Game of Thrones tour and the beautiful city of Derry~Londonderry.

Pre-conference workshops will be on 3rd of June, the registration will open in April.


Congress Fees & Registration Types

  • Standard registration: Includes access to all sessions, lunch, coffee breaks, social events, and congress materials.
  • Additional ticket for an accompanying person (social events only): £225.
  • Complimentary registration: For sponsors, the organising team, and invited guests.

Payment & cancellation policy

To ensure a smooth registration process, please note the following:

Payment details

  • Payment must be completed within 5 working days of registering or upon receiving the payment link.
  • All fees must be fully paid by the first day of the congress.
  • Please note: as Ulster University processes payments in GBP, they have used an average exchange rate of 0.85 (EUR/GBP) based on the past year. We understand it may be slightly higher than expected after conversion to Euros and apologise for any confusion.

Cancellation & refunds

We understand that plans may change. Here’s our cancellation policy:

  • Before 22 April: Full refund minus a £40 processing fee.
  • 23 April – 4 May: 50% refund.
  • After 4 May: No refund available.

No – if you have booked your place through our registration site, then we have all your details. You just need to make yourself known at the Welcome registration desk as you arrive and we can give you your badge

The event is smart casual – you do not need to wear a Gala dress or Tuxedo

Don’t worry – we know that some of our attendees may not yet have received their invoice or had the opportunity to pay for their place.

We have had some admin issues with the invoicing – please check your spam folder in case the invoice has been mis-directed. If you are registered to attend and have opted to pay by invoice but have not yet done so, you are still able to attend.

For those who do not have an Eduroam account, Ulster University guest wifi access is available.
