With a background in political education and a PhD in Economic Sociology, Michael Anger developed a deep interest in Open Science early in his career. The principles of transparency, reproducibility, and accessibility in research became a focus in his work, leading him to join the interdisciplinary research project DATABLIC. Through extensive expert interviews, his work explored data sharing, FAIR data principles, and the role of major research funding agencies in fostering Open Science. In 2023, he joined the research data management department at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) as an academic associate and work package lead in the aUPaEU project. His work spans policy development, platform creation, and stakeholder engagement, all aimed at advancing Open Science – efforts he will further contribute to at the EUNIS2025 conference.
