“Coming of Age in the digital age”
Since its inception, principally here in Paris, the University has served as a portal through which young adults passed to obtain the credentials that would serve them as scholars and professionals for the rest of their lives. The University was able to maintain this privileged role largely through its monopolization of traditional information technologies. With the advent of digital information technology, and the change in the age and career profiles of our populations, that monopoly is being challenged. In this talk, I will examine the impact of these changes on the role of the University, and how the University can continue to prosper in the face of the evolving information and demographic landscape.
