Thierry Koscielniak
is Chief Digital Officer at the Conservatoire national des Arts et Métiers in Paris (Le Cnam).
Le Cnam is the only French public higher education institution dedicated to lifelong learning and offers continuous learning in vocational areas with a strong focus on distance online courses.
The Cnam National Digital Office is in charge of course digitalisation and MOOC production (Twitter @LeCnamDN1).
Thierry has been a member of EUNIS since 2003 and was chairman of #EUNIS18 congress organizing committee.
As an expert in EdTech in higher education, he undertakes horizon-scanning and research on digital learning ; presently the pedagogical uses of both virtual reality and augmented reality AKA XR : eXtended Reality.On behalf of Cnam, he is the founder of the France Immersive Learning (FIL) professional network and is deeply involved in the FIL task force Immersive Learning Lab www.i2l.fr.
Thierry is a board officer member of CSIESR (www.csiesr.eu; @CSIESR), the French association of IT professionals in higher education and a sister association of EUNIS and EDUCAUSE. He is also vice-president of FFFOD, the French forum for digital learning stakeholders.
During his career he has always been deeply involved in the use and promotion of open source EdTech : FUN, Moodle, Sakai, uPortal, Karuta, Mahara, Pod, H5P and others. He believes in, and is committed to, strong international networking and has presented at many international conferences : JASIG, MoodleMoot, EDUCAUSE, Online Educa Berlin, Integrated System Europe. He is member of FUN-MOOC Board and Karuta Open Source Portfolio Governing Board.
