Recognition of academic achievements is currently supported in digital form, but in many European countries it is not mapped in digital workflows. To implement this successfully, it is not only necessary to harmonize the diverse federal, national and international projects and initiatives. The academic sector within universities must be willing to consider the mutual recognition of achievements and acquired competencies as the normality, and to ensure that the recognition process is transparent. Policymakers must keep pushing this as a priority if they want to achieve a high rate of international student mobility.

Erasmus Without Paper in numbers #4
Erasmus Without Paper network (EWP) is used daily by thousands of international relation officers to exchange data on Erasmus+ mobilities with their partners. In 2022, DG EAC from the European Commission and the EWP+ consortium, launched the Interoperability Reinforcement Plan (or Action Plan), aimed at achieving full interoperability for data exchanges in the EWP network. Was this plan successful? What is the actual state of use of the EWP network in 2023? The aim of this paper is to show what conclusions can be drawn about the state of the network based on the analysis of data obtained from the available tools.

The European Student Card: simplifying student mobility for students and Higher Education Institutions #7
The European Student Card (ESC) has been developed to promote student mobility and reduce administrative burdens for students and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Since 2016, 557 HEIs in 30 countries have joined the ESC, 1.8 million students have been issued an ESC to allow electronic recognition of student status and 3.8 million cards have been issued with an ESC hologram. The ESC is a scalable, interoperable and adaptable solution helping to streamline access to services and representing a greener, digital and easy-to-integrate solution for HEIs.

The future is in your wallet – how EMREX plans interaction with the EUDI wallet #16
EMREX is a solution for transferring student data internationally in a machine-readable way and in a structured format. The new digital European landscape includes European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI) and Single Digital Gateway, a platform which facilitates online access to information, administrative procedures, and services for EU citizens and businesses. EMREX has joined the Digital Credentials for Europe (DC4EU) project, to create a working pilot installation of a digital wallet that conforms to the EUDI wallet framework. The participation is expected to add value both to the EMREX-community and other organisations handling or in need of educational data.
