The goal of universities should be to reach the digital maturity necessary to satisfy the ever changing and demanding needs of their students. This is a long and complex process that will only succeed if the rectors understand the true potential of digital transformation. However, it is important to establish that the digital transformation is based on a well-defined strategy, using the potential of disruptive technologies to transform or create new university processes that can satisfy that strategy. It is interesting to know both the pathways to ensure the success of the digital transformation but also those that can result in failure.
