Tony Sheehan is a Senior Director Analyst in Gartner Research and Advisory. Mr. Sheehan researches higher education learning environments with a particular focus on learning management systems as well as the wider ecosystem of technologies that currently support learning in Higher Education. He also reviews the potential adoption of emerging learning technologies, as well as good practices to optimize student experience and institutional learning effectiveness.
He has considerable experience of digital learning strategy development, and can reflect on implementing learning technologies for both qualifications and executive education clients. He helps Institutions evolve learning technology practices to address the current challenges facing Higher Education and has a strong interest in the educational implications of the evolving world of work.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Sheehan had 12 years experience in the education sector, as Associate Dean for Digital Learning at London Business School, Director of Learning Services at Ashridge and as an advisor to multiple higher education and startup clients. Before joining the education sector, he designed and delivered a knowledge management strategy for Arup, a global engineering consultancy.
