Phillip Fischer is Chief Information Officer (CIO) at University College Dublin (UCD). He is instrumental in driving the continuous improvement of university-wide digital services for academic and administrative functions and supporting the University in delivering its digital strategy. Furthermore, a Director on the HEAnet board, he has been instrumental in driving sectoral opportunities, particularly in the area of cyber security. Prior to this he held the position of CIO & PMO Europe at Aramark where he led pan-European large scale digital transformation programmes His journey with Aramark began as CIO Ireland, later being appointed to CIO UK, Ireland & India before holding the position of CIO & PMO Europe. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Musgrave Group where he held various IT positions with the primary responsibility of delivering Business and Management Information Systems. Prior to that he founded an IT Consultancy in his hometown of Bochum, Germany. He holds the Henley MBA and completed the Institute of Directors Chartered Director Programme (IoD).
