Risto Rahu Risto Rahu
Risto Rahu currently works as Chief Information Security Officer at University of Tartu. He has over 30 years’ experience in various IT fields (networks, computers, servers, cyber security, etc). From 1996 to 2012 Risto worked in company Vendomar ltd, main role was selling and supporting various IT and networking equipment and do project management in the Tartu region. Risto received a bachelor's degree at the University of Tartu in 2004, the topic of the thesis was “GRID and computer networks”. In 2006 Risto received a master’s degree at the University of Tartu, thesis topic “Cisco NetFlow analyzer”. From 2009 to 2019 Risto worked in different positions in Estonian Ministry of Education and Research. The works included the implementation of a security standard ISKE, IT management of the ministry from 2012 to 2014, management of the IT infrastructure and cybersecurity of the ministry and preparation of IT consolidation of the ministry and its administrative area. From February 2020 Risto joins University of Tartu and works as as Chief Information Security Officer. Main role is lead small security team to maintain the cybersecurity of university and preparation for use of ISO 27001 cybersecurity standard.
