Juan Antonio Martínez-Carrascal
Juan Antonio Martínez-Carrascal was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1973. Master in Business Administration (MBA) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2003), he followed Ph. D. studies in Electronics – Signal Processing and Information Theory (2000) at La Salle School of Engineering (Universitat Ramon Llull – URL-) – after completing MsC in Electronics (URL, 1996) and BsC in Telecommunications Engineering (URL,1994). He has been working for over 20 years in higher education environments in fields related to information technology, and in particular on those related to e-learning. This background has motivated his focus on learning analytics, and in particular on how data can help to improve learning processes. He is currently undertaking a PhD on Education and Technology. He is also an associate professor at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
