Juan Alegret has a bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Informatics Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC (Spain), and a Postgrad in Management Development by IESE Business School. He started his professional career at the Cartographic Institute of Catalonia, and then he has worked in Siemens, Unisys, Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, developing part of his career in Germany, The Netherlands, Canada and the United Kingdom. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of EdTech. From 2004 Juan was the Senior Director for Education and Research in Sun Microsystems, covering EMEA. In 2011 he joined Microsoft as the Education Director for Spain. In 2015 he joined Blackboard (now Anthology), as a Senior Director for Business Development for EMEA, and in 2017 he was appointed as the Regional Vice President for Europe. After leaving Anthology (Blackboard), Juan is exploring to start an Edtech business focused in Higher Education.
