EU survey on electronic identity for European students open till 8th of May

The study analyses the cross-border use of electronic identification and authentication services to support student mobility and access to student services in Higher Education Institutions of the EU, and also, identifies the issues preventing wider adoption of systems that may contribute to facilitate this access.

At the initial stage the study aims at involving key higher education stakeholders in the EU through the following survey:

It is important that the survey reflects the views and opinions of a wide range of Higher Education Institutions across Europe as the results of the study will have a significant impact in the definition of the European strategy in that area. Thus, your participation in this process would be very much appreciated!

In order to collect relevant information divided in four different blocks:

1)    Introductory questions about the Higher Education Institution.

2)    Student services offered through a student e-card or other similar electronic identification solutions and the solutions to access them.

3)    Barriers to implement online access to student services in an institution.

4)    Other information.

The study will analyse the survey results and compile a report of the findings, which will be distributed to all participant Higher Education Institutions. The report will provide a valuable insight into the current landscape of electronic identification solutions in the area of cross-border access to student services in the EU.
