The EUNIS Open Science Special Interest Group, led by Michael Anger and Laurents Sesink, was launched at the EUNIS 2025 Congress in Belfast and has since been active through regular meetings. The SIG provides a platform for EUNIS members to coordinate Open Science initiatives, address shared challenges, and exchange best practices.
As a key outcome, the SIG has now published a position paper “Open Science matters” highlighting the importance of Open Science, its relevance to EUNIS, and the need to strengthen links between openness, digital infrastructures, research practices, and institutional policies in today’s changing geopolitical context.
