About EUNIS
EUNIS is a non-profit community of IT and digitalisation professionals supporting digital transformation in higher education and research across Europe . We empower our members with knowledge, resources, and networks to drive innovation, improve student experiences, and strengthen institutional resilience. Our community consists of higher education institutions, corporate members, and partners – approximately 150 in total. Our community comes together regularly in 7 active Special Interest Groups. And our annual congress has between 300-500 participants.
Purpose of the assignment
We are looking for a Digital Operations Manager to take the lead in designing, implementing, and maintaining EUNIS’s core digital processes and systems. This is a key operational role, ensuring that our organisation runs smoothly and can deliver on its strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of end-to-end process design for CRM, event management, and membership workflows, as well as e-General Assembly and electronic voting
- Coordinate business architecture across process, data, application, and technology layers
- Lead the projects to implement: new software implementation, process redesign
- Monitor and continuously improve operational processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation
- Provide documentation, guidance, and training to ensure processes are embedded across the organisation
Profile
- Strong experience in CRM systems and process design
- Proven project management skills, ideally in digital or IT-related projects
- Knowledge of enterprise/business architecture and ability to translate strategy into systems and processes
- Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented; able to see both the big picture and operational details
- Experience in higher education or membership organisations is a plus
- Self-starter, comfortable working independently and remotely within a European context
Team and collaboration
You will be part of a small but international support team that keeps EUNIS running day-to-day. The EUNIS board consists of 11 elected members from across Europe, who contribute part-time. You will work most closely with the President (based in the Netherlands), two to three designated board members, and the support team, which currently consists of:
- Communications manager
- Membership manager
- Event coordinator
- Community support officer, for which recruitment ongoing
- Technical support & web development team
Together, this professional, engaged, committed and enthusiastic team ensures that events, membership, communications, and digital platforms all function smoothly.
As Digital Operations Manager you will be the key link for processes and systems, ensuring consistency and coordination across this distributed network. You will also be invited to join the two in-person board and support team meetings and the annual congress:
- 19–21 November 2025 in Timișoara, Romania
- 1-5 June 2026 (also in Timișoara)
Travel and accommodation for these meetings will be covered by EUNIS.
Contract and remuneration
- Assignment duration: October 2025 – July 2026 (10 months, with possibility of renewal)
- Remuneration: to be agreed based on quote and experience. Please provide a daily, monthly, or total quote for the assignment in your application.
