Isabel Gallin, Karlsruhe Institute for Technology, Germany
Dr. Isabel Gallin holds a PhD in the History of Law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Amsterdam, as well as Master’s degrees in History, German Studies and Philosophy, all from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Isabel has extensive professional experience in higher education, having worked in different roles across a range of institutions and countries throughout Europe.
In 2015, she joined the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany to lead the implementation of a Campus Management System (CMS), a large-scale digital infrastructure project aimed at streamlining and integrating core academic and administrative processes, including admissions, course registration, examination management and student records. This complex initiative laid the foundation for KIT’s broader digital transformation in higher education, particularly in the areas of learning and teaching, as well as research. Since 2018, she has been serving as a Business Relationship Manager in KIT’s Digital Office, where she plays a strategic role in aligning digital initiatives with institutional goals. She leads key projects that support KIT’s digital transformation, fostering innovation and efficiency across academic and administrative domains.
Isabel’s professional journey has deepened her understanding of the essential role that collaborative networks play within Europe’s academic and digital landscape. As Vice-President of EUNIS, she brings her extensive expertise, strong commitment, and pan-European network, as well as a strategic vision for digital transformation, shaped by years of hands-on leadership in complex change management. Her interdisciplinary academic background and international professional experience provide valuable perspectives on the cultural, structural and policy-related dimensions of digitalisation. She is committed to fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation across diverse institutions to support EUNIS’ mission of promoting digital excellence, sustainability and inclusive progress in European higher education.
