EUNIS and UCISA are delighted to announce that they have signed a mutually beneficial collaborative agreement, recognising that their goals and objectives are complementary.

Under this agreement both organisations will:

  • promote the existence of high-quality infrastructures and services to support the activities of education and research institutions in Europe;
  • bring together organisation leaders, information technology leaders, directors of computing services and of national research networks, and libraries and media centre managers from European universities and other organisations to explore new directions in information technology for education, research and administration;
  • contribute to innovation and excellence in information technology for education, research and administration.

EUNIS and UCISA will work together through their respective special interest groups, communities of practice and task forces to collaborate on projects, studies and events of mutual interest. Both organisations will join efforts to disseminate standards, IT policies and best practices for the use of information technology in education, research and administration, in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Speaking of the initiative, UCISA CEO, Deborah Green commented: “Collaboration to connect our members and stakeholders is at the very heart of everything UCISA does and EUNIS shares this commitment. It is our joint hope that this collaboration will open up many more opportunities for our combined membership to network and share best practice.”

EUNIS President, Raimund Vogl said:EUNIS and UCISA have enjoyed a close working relationship for many years. Formalising our partnership now is one way to show that our associations are about communities not borders and that  together they  provide  a gateway to collaboration between higher education institutions in Europe and the UK.”
