The Best Session Award was introduced in 2025 to encourage and further strengthen interactive, engaging, and memorable sessions within the EUNIS Congress programme. The award recognises session proposals that go beyond traditional presentation formats by fostering active participation, meaningful discussion, innovation, and strong audience engagement.

The initiative was created to highlight the importance of high-quality conference experiences for delegates. Interactive and well-designed sessions help participants connect with peers, exchange ideas, discover practical solutions, and build lasting professional networks. They also contribute to a more dynamic, inclusive, and inspiring atmosphere throughout the Congress.

By introducing this award, EUNIS aims to celebrate and reward session organisers and speakers who create impactful experiences that resonate with the community and enrich the overall value of the conference.

The Best Session Award was first presented at the EUNIS 2025 Congress, hosted by Ulster University in Belfast. Delegates voted for their favourite session during the conference, with the winner announced during the Closing Plenary.

Participants are encouraged to consider the following criteria when casting their vote:

  • Eligibility: Only sessions presented within the four official Congress content tracks are eligible for consideration.
  • Presenter eligibility: Presenters are not required to be EUNIS members.
  • Audience engagement: The session’s ability to actively involve, engage, and connect with participants.
  • Innovation and originality: The extent to which the session introduced fresh ideas, creative approaches, or inspiring practices.
  • Quality and impact: The relevance, quality, and practical value of the session content for the EUNIS community.
  • Memorability and overall experience: The session’s ability to create a lasting impression and contribute positively to the overall conference experience.
  • Participant feedback: The overall reception and feedback from attendees during the Congress.

Responsible body: EUNIS Community / Congress delegates

Voting for the Best Session Award takes place during the Closing Plenary session, where delegates are invited to select the session they found most engaging, innovative, and impactful.
