Partner Organisations of EUNIS

EUNIS, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023, has always been focused on networking and exchange of good practice. Due to that EUNIS has been partnering and collaborating with other “sister” organisations on various IT Higher Education-oriented topics.

A long standing tradition led to signing collaborative agreements with some of the organisations listed below, whereas co-operations with the others is successfully continued in less formal and flexible way.

GÉANT

GÉANT is an association of organisations that are involved with the provision and use of computer network infrastructure and services for research and education in Europe. GÉANT interconnects Europe’s national research and education networking (NREN) organisations with an award-winning high bandwidth, high speed and highly resilient pan-European backbone – connecting Europe’s researchers, academics and students to each other. EUNIS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GÉANT.

1EdTech

1EdTech is a non-profit global consortium. Its unique approach involves government organisations, educational institutions and suppliers working together to develop an open, trusted, innovative education technology and digital credentials ecosystem. 1EdTech members deliver and maintain the open standards that Improve learning impact by making day-to-day activities easier and more effective for teachers and students, connecting every learner to the best digital learning experiences, and establishing a trusted foundation for secure, accessible, and insightful learning environments.. EUNIS and 1EdTech Learning Consortium signed a collaborative agreement.

EDUCAUSE

EDUCAUSE  is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology in the US. EDUCAUSE is a higher education technology association and the largest community of IT leaders and professionals committed to advancing higher education.

ECCA

The mission of European Campus Card Association (ECCA) is to assist education institutions in the Member States of the European Union and other European Countries to implement secure ID Credentials that will facilitate the operation of campus card programmes and enable information exchange between institutions. This will be achieved by developing European standards where appropriate and by acting as a forum for interaction, networking and developing partnerships between the institutions and the campus card transaction industry. EUNIS and ECCA signed an agreement on mutual collaboration.

EUA

European University Association (EUA)  as the representative organisation of both the European universities and the national rectors’ conferences, is the main voice of the higher education community in Europe. EUA plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and in influencing EU policies on higher education, research and innovation.

euroCRIS

euroCRIS is a not-for-profit, statutory association, governed by Dutch law, dedicated to the development and implementation on an institutional, national as well as international level of top-quality research information systems and their interoperability, based on CERIF (Common European  Research Information Format); and to the promotion of cooperation and sharing of ideas between stakeholders in the research information domain. EUNIS and euroCRIS signed a memorandum of understanding.

Vietsch Foundation

The Vietsch Foundation mission is to promote research and development of advanced Internet technology for scientific research and higher education. The Vietsch Foundation fulfils its goals in two ways: first, it contributes funding to specific research and development projects that demonstrate potential value to progress European and global research and education networking. And second, each year it awards a medal of honour to people who have contributed to the development of services or technologies of lasting value that are used by the networking community and its users in research, development and education. EUNIS and Vietsch Foundation signed a collaboration agreement.

MLA

Media and Learning Association (MLA) is an international, not-for-profit association with its headquarters in Belgium. The Association promotes and stimulates the use of media as a way to enhance innovation and creativity in teaching and learning across all levels of education in Europe. EUNIS and MLA signed a collaboration agreement.

CAUDIT

The Council of Australasian University Directors of Information Technology (CAUDIT) is an incorporated entity with membership drawn from the higher education and research institutions. CAUDIT’s vision is that leaders in Australian universities, Australian Government Department and industry recognise both CAUDIT and its members as an important source of strategic advice on the use of Information Technology in Higher Education.

Member Organisations of EUNIS

AMUE (France)

AMUE  (Agence de Modernisation des Universités et des Etablissements) is a French shared-services agency that aims at fostering innovation in Higher Education and Research Institutions. The main goal is to enhance the quality of university management through the use of technology and solutions specifically developed to fulfill HE and Research Institutions’ needs.

CINECA (Italy)

CINECA is a non profit Consortium, made up of 69 Italian universities and 3 institutions. It offers support to the research activities of the scientific community through supercomputing and its applications being the high technology bridge between the academic world, research and the world of industry and public administration.

CSIESR (France)

CSIESR  (Comité des Services Informatiques de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche) is the French organization which assembles together the IS services from the French universities and Research.

CSC (Finland)

CSC is a Finnish center of expertise in ICT that provides ICT expert services at an internationally high level of quality for research, education, culture, public administration and enterprises, to help them thrive and benefit society at large.

EUNIS CZ (Czech Republic)

EUNIS-CZ  EUNIS organization for Czech Republic has been established with the same objectives as EUNIS to act at a national level in Czech Republic.

EUNIS SK (Slovakia)

EUNIS SK  is the national association supporting the cooperation of higher education institutions in the area of information technology. Its foundation was initiated in 1995 by the participants of Slovak-wide seminars UNINFOS on the use of information technology in higher education.

GUnet (Greece)

GUnet the Greek Academic Network aims are determined by the broadband network needs and objectives of the Greek academic community in the framework of Information Society aiming at servicing research and education.

Jisc (UK)

Jisc offers digital services and solutions for UK education and research. Working together across the higher education, further education and skills sectors, Jisc provides trusted advice and support, reduces sector costs across shared network, digital content, IT services and procurement negotiations, ensuring the sector stays ahead of the game with research and development for the future.

MUCI (Poland)

MUCI is the Interuniveristy Center for IT  that was set up as a consortium of universities that develop and maintain information systems for supporting university IT services, management and administration.

LADOK (Sweden)

LADOK  is a computer based student admission and documentation system for a university or university college. It focuses on administration of undergraduate and graduate students. The system is locally deployed and managed by the institutions.

OPI (Poland)

OPI (National Information Processing Institute) is an interdisciplinary research institute. Its principal aim is to provide access to complex and up-to-date information concerning Polish science. In addition, they conduct own R&D projects, mainly of an applicable character, which serve as a stimulus for development of science, technology transfer and improvement of the Polish higher education system.

SIGMA (Spain)

Sigma (Sigma Gestión Universitaria) is an association of universities in Spain devoted to providing support for the whole university administration process for its members.

SURF (the Netherlands)

SURF is the higher education and research partnership organisation for network services and information and communications technology (ICT).

UCISA (UK)

UCISA  (Universities and Colleges IS Association) represents the whole of higher education, and increasingly further education, in the provision and development of academic, management and administrative information systems, providing a network of contacts and a powerful lobbying voice.

ZKI (Germany)

ZKI  (Zentren für Kommunikation und Informations Verarbeitung in Lehre und Forschung e.V) is the German Universities and Research organization for IS.
