Vlad Petcu, West University of Timisoara, Romania
Vlad Petcu is the Deputy General Director of the West University of Timișoara (UVT), where he leads institutional development efforts and oversees the coordination of multiple administrative departments. As a member of the University’s Council of Administration, he plays a key role in strategic planning and in aligning operational structures with the university’s long-term goals for modernization and digital transformation.
Vlad is also responsible for coordinating the development of the Digital Ecosystem of the UNITA European University Alliance, focusing on shared infrastructure, cross-border collaboration, and interoperability among partner institutions. His work supports the creation of integrated digital solutions that serve students, academic staff, and university governance across multiple countries.
At the European level, he currently serves as Co-Chair of the Community of Practice for Digital & IT of FOR-EU4All, where he facilitates structured dialogue and cooperation among alliances. In this role, he contributes to shaping common priorities, sharing practices, and advocating for the digital agenda of European Universities within broader EU frameworks.
Vlad brings a unique and comprehensive perspective on digital transformation, spanning the micro level of institutional governance, the meso level of inter-university cooperation, and the macro level of European strategic alignment and policy influence.
