Planning for the EUNIS 2026 Congress is officially underway! Last week, the EUNIS Board met for its annual in-person meeting in the future host city of EUNIS26: Timișoara, Romania. During the visit, EUNIS President Evelien Renders signed the Congress Agreement with Prof. Univ. Dr. Marilen Gabriel Pirtea, Rector of the West University of Timișoara.

The university, an EUNIS member  since 2024, recognised by the Romanian Ministry of National Education as an interdisciplinary and innovative institution, will provide an excellent venue for our next Congress. Combined with the charm of Timișoara, often called the “Little Vienna” and celebrated as a European Capital of Culture in 2023, the location promises outstanding opportunities for social events and networking, ensuring the EUNIS26 Congress will be an unforgettable experience!

A warm thank you goes to Vlad Petcu, EUNIS Board member, for hosting the Board and Support Team, sharing valuable insights, and giving us an engaging tour of both the university and the beautiful city of Timișoara. ✨

We look forward to welcoming the entire EUNIS community, along with new higher education colleagues from across Europe, to Timișoara from 2–4 June 2026!
