On 26 June 2026 the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) Library hosted the AGORA Stakeholder Forum of the Horizon Europe project aUPaEU (A University Partnership for Acceleration of European Universities). The forum was organized by KIT’s aUPaEU team and moderated by Dr. Michael Anger, who is also co-Lead of the EUNIS Special Interest Group (SIG) on Open Science. Dr. Isabel Gallin, Vice President of EUNIS and a member of the KIT Digital Office, represented EUNIS and contributed the European perspective to the discussions.
The forum brought together representatives from twelve European University Alliances to exchange experiences on the further development of AGORA—a digital platform supporting the institutional transformation of university alliances. During his talk, Michael Anger specifically highlighted the platform’s potential to boost Open Science, as well as collaboration with stakeholders from society and industry. A cornerstone of these ambitions is the concept of so-called Open Science Hubs, a concept which is currently developed by KIT and further advanced by the EUNIS Open Science SIG.
